Bruce Willis’s Daughter Rumer Shares Heartbreaking Update On His Dementia Condition
Rumer Willis, the daughter of Bruce Willis, has openly discussed the persistent difficulties she faces due to her father’s illness.
After many years of being a reliable action star, Bruce Willis took a break from acting in 2022 due to health issues.
Subsequently, he informed his family that he had been diagnosed with aphasia, a disorder that impairs language abilities.
The following year, his family revealed that he had also been diagnosed with dementia, specifically frontotemporal degeneration (FTD).
FTD manifests through symptoms such as difficulty speaking, compulsive behaviors, and changes in personality, affecting the brain’s frontal lobes.
Individuals with a family history of dementia are at a higher risk of developing frontotemporal dementia, although no additional risk factors have been identified.
On June 15, Rumer, the eldest daughter of Willis, shared an emotional message about her father on Father’s Day, conveying her feelings of gratitude and sorrow.
She posted on Instagram: “Today is difficult; I feel a profound ache in my chest to converse with you and share everything happening in my life. To embrace you and inquire about your life, your stories, struggles, and achievements.”
